Canyonlands National Park
A collection of photos from my trip to Canyonlands National Park.
Looking across the slickrock.
The trail down the slickrock. Can you see the two hikers in the center
of the rock? They are looking into the canyon they just climbed out of.
I was at the head of the canyon looking down. |

Here is another view of the same hikers. |

Here is the view looking up after we switched places.
They are on the left side of the photo following the trail up
to the gap in the center, next to the large rock spire. |
Rock cairns mark the trail,
while the rabbit watches. |
I slipped around the rabbit
and it never knew I was there.
(I used a telephoto lens for the pictures) |
Pines can grow almost
anywhere in the desert. |
Reflections in a puddle
after a rare desert rain. |
The rain helps the flowers bloom. |
All good things must end,
so back to the car I go.
Notice the mountains in the clouds to the left.
They are in the Manti La Sal National Forest,
just outside of Monticello, UT. |

Here are the same mountains the next morning,
from the Monticello side,
showing off a fresh layer of snow.
The split rail fence was directly
behind our motel |
